Symptom 10: Increased Urinary Urgency
Increased urinary urgency, or the sudden and intense need to urinate, can be an unexpected symptom of diverticular colitis. Inflammation in the colon may put pressure on the bladder, leading to increased urgency and, in some cases, urinary incontinence.
To manage increased urinary urgency, healthcare professionals may recommend pelvic floor exercises, bladder training techniques, or medications to help alleviate symptoms. In some cases, treating the underlying inflammation associated with diverticular colitis may also help to alleviate urinary symptoms.
As increased urinary urgency can be indicative of other conditions, it’s important to consult with a healthcare professional to determine the underlying cause and receive appropriate treatment. (8)
