Symptom 4: Persistent Fatigue
Fatigue is a common complaint amongst many, often chalked up to a hectic lifestyle or inadequate sleep. However, the exhaustion associated with NSHL is a different beast. We’re talking about a persistent sense of tiredness that doesn’t abate, even with ample rest.
At its core, this fatigue stems from the body’s constant battle against the cancer cells. It’s an energy-intensive process, leaving individuals feeling drained. It’s not just physical fatigue; many report mental and emotional exhaustion too.
Unlike the usual tiredness that a good night’s sleep might cure, this lingers. It can be debilitating, affecting daily tasks and diminishing quality of life. What makes it more challenging is its intangibility, making it hard for others to recognize or empathize. (4)
