7. Ringing in the Ears
Tinnitus, or ringing in the ears, is another common symptom that can come along with nausea, dizziness, or headaches. It happens because an intense blow to the head affects the tiny bones within the ears. These bones are supposed to be arranged in a certain way to function properly. If they are offset or there are other disturbances, ringing appears. [3]
A study by the Oregon Health and Service University Tinnitus Clinic revealed that over 12% of patients with tinnitus had a history of head or neck injury. Due to their tinnitus, they had difficulty sleeping, relaxing, thinking clearly and remembering things. The noise level of their tinnitus was estimated to be one third higher than in patients who had not suffered an injury. [5]
