Symptom 10: Blisters and Erosions
One of the advanced and painful manifestations of Lichen Planus is the appearance of blisters and erosions. When LP intensifies, the skin’s upper layer can break down, leading to these painful outcomes.
Before the skin erodes entirely, it may form fluid-filled blisters. These blisters can be small, resembling dewdrops, or grow larger, pulling together into significant formations. Their presence indicates a severe underlying inflammatory response, demanding immediate attention.
As these blisters mature or if they’re subjected to trauma, they can rupture, leaving behind painful erosions. These raw patches are not just sensitive but also susceptible to secondary bacterial or fungal infections. The healing process, too, is slow, often leaving scars in its wake.
The pain from erosions can be debilitating, limiting movement and affecting daily routines. The constant sting, especially upon contact with water or certain fabrics, can be a reminder of the condition’s severity.
