Symptom 5: Preferred Areas
Flat warts, like many of us, have their favorite spots. While they can technically crop up anywhere on the body, certain areas seem to be particularly enticing for these growths. The face, neck, legs, and back of the hands are often the chosen grounds.
The preference isn’t whimsical. The nature of the skin, the frequency of contact, and exposure to external elements play a role in determining these hotspots. For instance, the face and hands are often exposed and come in contact with various surfaces, making them more susceptible.
This preferential behavior can serve as a clue during self-examinations. Regularly monitoring these areas can lead to early detection and, consequently, timely intervention. Being aware of these zones can also assist in preventive measures. (5)
