11. Not Alone in the Game: Comparing with Torus Palatinus
Torus mandibularis has a counterpart. Named torus palatinus, it appears on the palate. The two share similarities but have distinctions too.
Torus palatinus finds its home on the hard palate. It’s a bony growth, like its mandibular counterpart. However, its location is different. More centrally located, it stands out more.
Yet, both growths are benign. Neither is a sign of a deeper problem. They’re both simply anatomical variants. Nature’s way of showcasing diversity.
In essence, while torus mandibularis has its unique place, it’s not singular. Torus palatinus stands as its parallel in the oral world. (11)
