Symptom 4. Fatigue: More Than Just Feeling Tired
Fatigue is a symptom that’s often overlooked because it’s somewhat vague and can be linked to many conditions, including heart disease. It’s more than just feeling tired. It’s an excessive tiredness or lack of energy that doesn’t improve after rest.
While it’s normal to feel tired after a strenuous day, persistent, unexplained fatigue could signal a heart problem. Fatigue related to heart conditions often occurs because your heart can’t pump enough blood to meet the body’s needs, leaving you feeling drained.
This feeling of exhaustion could be a symptom of various heart-related problems, like heart disease, heart failure, or an arrhythmia. Also, in women, fatigue can be a significant symptom of a heart attack.(4)
