Bladder infection in adults can cause:
- pain, burning or stinging during urination;
- a constant urge to urinate;
- a feeling of constantly needing to urinate despite doing it often;
- Urinating in very small amounts;
- Urine that is dark, cloudy or strong-smelling;
- pain or pressure in the lower stomach;
- a general feeling of tiredness and sickness;
- blood in the urine;
- cramping in the back or belly;
- pain during sexual intercourse.
Experiencing the symptoms of bladder infection can also have a mental effect, as it is possible to feel depressed and anxious while waiting for the symptoms to go away. Remember, if it does not get better after a few days or if there is blood in the urine, it is time to call your GP.
