Who is at risk?
Food poisoning is very common. However, some groups of people tend to be at higher risk. Usually it’s who are:
- Immunocompromised (People are considered to be moderately or severely immunocompromised due to several types of conditions and treatments);
- Polypathological (multiple chronic diseases);
- The elderly (Older adults have a higher risk because as people age, their immune systems and organs don’t recognize and get rid of harmful germs as well as they once did);
- Infants (As well as eldery, immune system of infants can give weak response to toxins);
- Pregnant women (high hormone levels make it immune system weak);
- Travelling to exotic countries (lots of unknown for yuour body toxins).
