Severe Food Poisoning.
In cases of severe food poisoning, medical tests may be required. They may include:
A stool culture test.
This allows to find pathogenic bacteria such as salmonella, shigella, yersinia or campylobacter.
Parasitological stools examination.
To detect possible parasites.
Blood tests.
To assess the impact on the general state of health.
Endoscopic examinations.
Very rare, usually called upon if there is persistent diarrhea or all other tests come up clean.
