Heart Attack Symptoms

10. Sweats

Sudden sweating without any obvious cause may be a sign of a preinfarction state. According to cardiologists, the reason for excessive sweating is that it takes much more effort for the heart to pump blood through clogged arteries. Because of this, the human body produces more sweat to reduce the temperature during additional stress.

With a heart attack, an episode of cold sweat does not stop after a couple of minutes, unlike panic attacks or massive anxiety. If sweating is accompanied by severe chest pain, dizziness and shortness of breath, then this indicates a preinfarction state. Therefore, if you wake up at night from the fact that you are sweating a lot and after a few minutes the sweating does not stop, it’s time to call an ambulance.

It is crucial to catch the signs of a heart attack early. If there is the slightest suspicion that a person has MI symptoms, call an ambulance immediately. Before the arrival of the paramedics, the patient should be kept at rest. Aspirin may reduce chest pain (please advise your doctor).

The first minutes of a heart attack are crucial. So the outcome largely depends on the speed of the medical care provided: the sooner the ambulance arrives, the more likely it is to save a life.

Please do not hesitate to seek medical help even if you have the slightest suspicion that you’re witnessing or having a heart attack. Paying attention to your health and maintaining a healthy lifestyle are fool-proof ways to ward off cardiovascular disease.

Stay safe and take care!
