Symptom 3: Fatigue
Another common symptom associated with angina pectoris is fatigue or a sense of overwhelming tiredness. This isn’t your typical end-of-a-long-day fatigue but a chronic, lingering weariness that doesn’t seem to resolve with rest.
Fatigue in angina pectoris occurs because the heart isn’t efficiently pumping blood around the body. When blood flow to various body parts becomes inadequate, these areas don’t receive the necessary oxygen and nutrients they need, leading to a state of constant exhaustion.
It’s important to note that fatigue as a symptom can be a bit tricky, primarily because it’s a common feature in many health conditions, not just angina pectoris. However, when combined with other symptoms like chest discomfort or shortness of breath, fatigue could indicate angina pectoris. (3)
