Managing stress is obviously easier said than done, but it is an important step in fighting hypertension, as it is one of the main causes of high blood pressure. It mobilizes the body, which means that the pulse quickens and blood vessels constrict. Often, stress can provoke compulsive overeating, uncontrolled drinking and even substance abuse, which also negatively affects the heart and circulatory system. It can lead to poor sleep quality, too. Mental health is incredibly important. Never hesitate to seek help.
