Sign 9. Increased Sweating: The Unseen Signal of Heart Failure
Increased sweating, or hyperhidrosis, particularly night sweats, can be an early sign of heart failure. With the heart’s decreasing ability to pump blood, the body might respond by pushing the heart to work harder, leading to increased sweating.
This symptom often goes unnoticed, as it’s easy to dismiss sweating as a result of a warm environment or physical exertion. However, increased sweating, especially at rest or during the night, could be indicative of heart failure.
Spotting this symptom requires attention to changes in the body’s response to temperature. Sweating more than usual without strenuous physical activity or high temperature should serve as a warning sign. Also, sudden drenching night sweats are a key indicator.(9)
