Sign 10: Chest Pain
Chest pain, particularly in individuals with advanced heart failure, is a critical sign that requires immediate medical attention. This symptom usually manifests as a feeling of pressure, fullness, or squeezing pain in the center of the chest.
Chest pain occurs when the heart muscle is not getting enough oxygen-rich blood. In people with CHF, this symptom often presents during physical exertion or periods of stress.
Chest pain should never be taken lightly, as it can be a sign of a heart attack, a life-threatening condition. If you experience chest pain that lasts more than a few minutes, especially if it’s accompanied by other symptoms such as shortness of breath, dizziness, or nausea, seek medical help immediately. (10)
