Sign 4: Fatigue and Weakness
Fatigue, often described as a persistent feeling of tiredness or exhaustion, is another early sign of CHF. In the context of CHF, fatigue can be particularly crippling, rendering even the simplest activities, such as walking short distances or performing daily chores, daunting tasks.
This fatigue arises from the heart’s inability to pump sufficient blood to meet the body’s needs. As a result, the body diverts blood away from less crucial body parts, including muscles in the limbs, leading to a feeling of weakness.
While it’s normal to feel tired after a strenuous day, chronic and debilitating fatigue is a cause for concern. If you notice that regular tasks are becoming more challenging to perform and you tire easily, it may be time to seek medical advice. (4)
