Symptom 10: Confusion or Loss of Consciousness
In severe cases, Ventricular Fibrillation might lead to confusion or even a loss of consciousness. The confusion might manifest as difficulty understanding speech, inability to focus, or disorientation. In other words, you might find yourself in a foggy mental state, unable to think clearly.
This confusion often progresses quickly to loss of consciousness or outright collapse. This loss of consciousness is a medical emergency and requires immediate medical attention. It’s caused by the significantly reduced blood flow to the brain resulting from the heart’s inefficient pumping action.
Experiencing any form of unexplained confusion, especially when paired with other symptoms like chest pain or shortness of breath, demands urgent medical help. If you or someone around you collapses or loses consciousness, call your local emergency services immediately. (8)
