Dairy products are often touted as a prime source of calcium. Indeed, they play a significant role in building and maintaining strong bones. However, they can be a potential source of discomfort for those with compromised kidney health.
Excessive intake of dairy products can lead to higher levels of calcium in your body. While a controlled amount of calcium is beneficial, an excess can lead to kidney stones. This happens when the calcium combines with other waste substances in the body to form crystals in the kidneys.
Moreover, dairy products also contain high amounts of phosphorus. As we discussed earlier, high phosphorus levels can lead to a plethora of health problems for those with compromised kidney function.
