Signs and Symptoms of Chlamydia Infection

Symptoms in Women.

The most common chlamydia symptoms in women include:

  • pain or burning during urination;
  • urinating more often than usual;
  • unusual vaginal discharge (abnormal amount, yellowish/greenish or strong smelling);
  • pain during penetrative vaginal sex;
  • vaginal swelling.

If the chlamydia infection travels up to the cervix and uterus, it is possible to also experience the following symptoms:

  • pain in the lower belly or back (similar to period cramps);
  • bleeding between periods or after vaginal sex;
  • feeling nauseous;
  • having sub febrile temperature (99 F – 100.3 F/37,5 °C – 38,0 °C).
