The body often uses nausea as a way to signal distress. When there’s bleeding in the lower gastrointestinal tract, the body might react with nausea.
Vomiting blood or a substance that looks like coffee grounds is alarming. It’s a clear sign of significant bleeding in the GI tract.
Conditions like gastritis, where the stomach lining gets inflamed, can cause LGIB. The resultant bleeding might then trigger nausea or vomiting.(6)
