Throat Cancer Symptoms and Signs

Rare Symptoms.

These symptoms are considered to be rare, but it is possible to experience them as well. Moreover, the aggressiveness of throat cancer can be very different, so even ‘rare’ symptoms might be more common or develop more quickly in some people than others. These symptoms include:

  • Nose bleeds;
  • Earache;
  • Headaches;
  • Coughing up blood;
  • Chronic sinus infection;
  • Persistent nasal congestion;
  • Persistent bad breath;
  • Stiff jaw;
  • Generalized swelling in the eyes, jaw, throat, or neck.

These symptoms are non-specific, which means they can be associated with different conditions other than cancer. If they are persistent, though, please seek medical attention.
If you experience life-threatening conditions, such as trouble breathing or eating, or if you notice a lump in the head or neck region, especially if it causes difficulty swallowing, seek medical attention as soon as possible for a proper diagnosis. [3]
