18. Refined Vegetable Oils
Refined vegetable oils, such as soybean, corn, and sunflower oil, are high in omega-6 fatty acids, which can promote inflammation when consumed in excess. Consuming large amounts of these oils can exacerbate arthritis symptoms, including joint pain and stiffness.
To minimize the impact of refined vegetable oils on arthritis, choose healthier oil options, such as olive oil, avocado oil, or coconut oil, which are lower in omega-6 fatty acids and have anti-inflammatory properties. (14)
