Fact 7: Asymptomatic in Early Stages
Papillary thyroid cancer, like many other cancers, can be stealthy in its early stages. Often, there are no noticeable symptoms until the disease has advanced, making early detection challenging.
However, as the cancer progresses, several symptoms can appear including a lump in the front of the neck, hoarseness or voice changes, difficulty swallowing, swollen lymph nodes in the neck, and persistent cough not associated with a cold. It’s important to remember that these symptoms are not exclusive to thyroid cancer and can result from other health conditions as well. However, if these symptoms persist, it’s essential to seek medical attention.
