Frequent urination can seem like an inconvenience, but it could be a sign of an underlying parathyroid adenoma. Parathyroid adenoma can result in an excess of calcium levels in the bloodstream, which is then excreted through the kidneys. This process can lead to an increased need to urinate.
Increased frequency of urination can cause a disruption in day-to-day life. It can lead to disturbances in sleep due to the need to urinate frequently during the night, a condition known as nocturia. This disruption in sleep can lead to increased fatigue, adding to the tiredness already experienced due to the parathyroid adenoma.
Furthermore, the increased excretion of calcium can lead to the formation of kidney stones. These stones can cause intense pain and further increase the frequency and urgency of urination. If left untreated, this could also lead to potential kidney damage. (4)
