Symptom 9. Behavioral Changes

Vascular dementia can also bring about significant behavioral changes. These can include increased agitation, aggression, restlessness, or even personality changes. Such shifts can be distressing for both the individual and their loved ones, who may struggle to reconcile these changes with their understanding of the person’s character.
These behavioral changes can manifest in several ways. The person may become more irritable, reacting strongly to situations that wouldn’t have bothered them before.
They may show signs of restlessness, finding it hard to sit still or concentrate on a task for extended periods. In some cases, they may become more impulsive, engaging in behaviors that seem out of character. (9)
