Tip 3: Prioritize Rest and Sleep
Living with lupus can often leave you feeling exhausted. It’s essential, therefore, to listen to your body and prioritize rest and sleep.
Quality sleep has numerous health benefits. It allows your body to heal and restore itself, boosts your immune system, and helps manage fatigue – a common symptom of lupus. Aim for 7-9 hours of sleep each night, and try to maintain a regular sleep schedule.
Rest, on the other hand, doesn’t necessarily mean sleeping. It’s about giving your body a chance to relax and recover. Incorporate regular breaks into your day, especially during periods of increased activity or stress.
However, rest and relaxation doesn’t equate to a sedentary lifestyle. It’s all about finding the right balance between activity and rest, and understanding your body’s limits. (3)
