High Blood Pressure Diet

Here are the basics:

  1. Healthy eating habits. For people with hypertension it is recommended to choose a low fat diet, that is rich in grains, fruits and vegetables.
  2. Change of attitude. A healthy diet shouldn`t be a list of restrictions, but an enjoyable lifestyle. It is a myth that all healthy food is bland! The food you eat should bring joy along with health benefits.
  3. Consistency is key. The changes you introduce must be systematic, logical and steady.
  4. Swap options. It is advised to replace animal fats with vegetable ones. It’s best to avoid butter, sour cream, pork, beef, carbonated drinks and drinks containing caffeine. Canned and processed foods do not contribute to our well-being, either.
  5. Discover the joy of cooking. Try out new recipes, especially vegetarian and vegan ones, giving preference to boiling, steaming, baking. Focus on vegetables, fish and low-fat dairy products.
