High Blood Pressure Diet

Other ways to Lower Blood Pressure.

In addition to healthy eating, there are other ways to decrease your blood pressure.

1. Physical activity.

One of the best things to do to lower your blood pressure. Start with a daily walk and then find something you like. Swimming, hiking or yoga are best for blood vessels.

2. Supplements.

Some vitamins (like C, B2 and B9) and L-arginine (produces vasodilator that widens blood vessels) can help lower blood pressure.

3. Medication.

Most patients need a combination of two or three medicines to keep their blood pressure at normal levels. Please consult your doctor before taking any medicine.

4. Home remedies.

Medications are a necessity, but some natural remedies may be added to deal with high blood pressure. Hibiscus tea (a natural diuretic) and coconut water (which contains vitamin C, magnesium and potassium) are particularly recommended.

Following a healthy diet, like the DASH diet, can help you stabilize your blood pressure and reduce the risks of hypertension. Moreover, sticking to the DASH diet is part of a heart-healthy lifestyle, which also helps to manage stress and anxiety.
