Healthy Eating Habits
Eat regularly. You might be too busy, or you might want to skip a meal in order to lose weight. This is tricky because if you skip, you’re more likely to get really hungry and grab something unhealthy, or you might overeat during your next meal, which will cause your triglycerides to rise. It’s better to have sensible-sized meals several times a day. Be sure to have breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and have healthy snacks like nuts, fruit or carrots in-between.
Don’t overeat. Large meals can trigger extremely high triglycerides, which is dangerous due to the raised risk of heart attack. Have your normal serving divided in half. Cook the usual amount but serve only half. If you eat at a restaurant, divide your meal into smaller portions. Eat slowly to be able to tell when you’re full. Don’t get another portion unless you’re still hungry.
It is very useful to follow the recommended serving sizes. It is also important to keep track of what you eat, when you eat, where you eat, why you eat and how much you eat to maintain a healthy balance. [8]
