Vitamin B12-rich Foods
People with hypothyroidism are more likely to be deficient in vitamin B12. This vitamin is found in animal source foods and green leafy vegetables, but can also be easily absorbed from food supplements.
It is mainly found in:
- Offal (kidneys, liver, heart, brain);
- Fish (salmon eggs, octopus, anchovies, mackerel, herring, sardines, red tuna, trout);
- Seafood (oyster, mussels, crab);
- Seaweeds (nori, sea lettuce);
- Pâté, terrines;
- Meat (rabbit, deer, beef);
- Egg yolk.
