Foods Rich in Zinc
Zinc is involved in the synthesis and release of TSH (thyroid-stimulating hormone), which triggers the release of thyroid hormones. It is also involved in the activity of T3 (triiodothyronine), which is the active thyroid hormone, via specific receptors. Zinc requirements are 8 milligrams (mg) for women and 11 mg for adult men. A zinc deficiency can also lead to hypothyroidism.
