Food 12: Strawberries – A Sweet Surprise
Adding a sweet twist to our list is a favorite summertime treat – strawberries. While typically celebrated for their high vitamin C content, strawberries are also a decent source of iodine.
A one-cup serving of fresh strawberries provides about 13 mcg of iodine. While this isn’t as high as some of our previous entries, it can contribute to your daily iodine needs while offering a flavorful break from more conventional sources.
Strawberries are a true nutritional delight, boasting high levels of antioxidants, including anthocyanins, which give strawberries their vibrant color and help combat oxidative stress. (12)
