Age is another factor that can contribute to the development of rheumatoid arthritis. While RA can affect people of all ages, the risk of developing the disease increases as we get older. The majority of RA patients are diagnosed between the ages of 30 and 60, with the prevalence of the condition increasing with age.
The reason behind this increased risk is not entirely understood, but it may be due to age-related changes in the immune system, hormonal fluctuations, or the cumulative effect of other risk factors over time. (9)
