Dizziness: Causes, Symptoms, and Treatments

Carbon monoxide poisoning

Carbon monoxide is a poisonous gas. The most common causes of inadvertent exposure to carbon monoxide are wrongly installed or insufficiently ventilated household appliances, such as cookers and heaters. Breathing this gas can make you feel unwell or even kill depending on the dose you have been exposed to. During exposure to low levels of carbon monoxide the symptoms may not be very evident and be similar to food poisoning or the flu, except for the absence of high temperature.

Meniere’s disease

It’s a rare progressive disorder involving the excessive buildup of fluid in the inner ear. The reason for the accumulation of fluid hasn’t been discovered yet. This disorder typically causes recurring episodes of vertigo (we have spoken about it earlier in this article in the paragraph about labyrinthitis), hearing loss, hearing sounds that come from inside the body (tinnitus), and a sense of pressure in the ear. Symptoms often vary from person to person. They often begin suddenly and last for a couple of hours. Some people may experience several episodes each week or there may be none for weeks, months or even years.
