How do I know – Early signs!
Every person has their own symptoms of low blood sugar, or might have no symptoms at all (see Hypoglycemia Unawareness below). Be sure to monitor your condition and find out your own early signs.
In most cases, if your blood sugar has fallen lower than normal, the signs will be:
- An irregular or fast heartbeat;
- Fatigue;
- Pale skin;
- Shakiness;
- Anxiety;
- Sweating;
- Hunger;
- Irritability;
- Tingling or numbness of the lips, tongue or cheeks.
The only way to find out if you are having an episode of low blood sugar is to check it. If you have the symptoms, but are unable to check, treat it. [8]
