How to Treat Nausea?
Treating nausea starts with treating the cause. The first thing to do is to avoid possible triggering factors, in particular certain foods and/or medications.
If symptoms do not improve, medication can be used. Here are some commonly used medications:
- Antiemetics;
- Histamine H2 receptor blockers and proton pump inhibitors, which are antacids that reduce acid production in the stomach;
- Prokinetic drugs, such as Erythromycin or Metoclopramide.
