Dizziness: Causes, Symptoms, and Treatments

Orthostatic hypotension

It is an abrupt decrease in blood pressure when you suddenly sit up or stand up. It tends to go away after lying down. Blurred vision, noticeable heartbeats, nausea or fainting could also be signals that there’s not enough blood going to the brain and other vital organs. A blood pressure reading under 90/60 is usually regarded as low blood pressure and requires attention and managing the underlying causes.

Dehydration or heat exhaustion

Dehydration could be a result of not drinking enough water during a workout, an illness that causes vomiting or diarrhea or being active in hot weather. If dehydration is left untreated, it can become severe, which is considered a medical emergency. Taking heart medication can increase the risk of getting overheated.
